This weekend Natalie, Ashley, Max, Kay and Anna from the Ralph James team took part in Back 2 The Trenches – an extreme obstacle course in Nutfield – to raise money and awareness for the National Autistic Society.

Staying fit and healthy are major interests for everyone at Ralph James, but usually in rather more ordered environments than the obstacles, wooded trail runs, mud and challenging hills of Back 2 The Trenches!

However, despite plenty of bumps, knocks, bruises and getting absolutely filthy, the guys’n’gals completed the course in good humour, even managing – we know not how – to finish with a smile on their faces.

Autism is a lifelong, developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people, and how they experience the world around them. It’s a subject very close to the heart of Ralph James Director, Thomas, who has a family member diagnosed on the autism spectrum.

Although Thomas was away for this weekend’s fun and frolics, he’ll be taking things a step further in September having entered into Man vs Mountain where he’ll have to run 20 miles over a mountain in Snowdonia.

As we said, this is all in aid of raising funds and awareness for the National Autistic Society. Thank to you everyone who donated for last year’s Back 2 The Trenches – if you would like to donate for this year, you can do that here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Ralph-James
