‘Redgate’ has long been the fashionable go-to area for people moving out of the city, and for good reason. It is hugely attractive with a mixture of homes on leafy roads, yet you remain incredibly central being just five minutes from the best parks, Redhill Station and several popular schools. Families and professionals flock here, and with the vibrant mix of shops, restaurants and pubs, it feels really cosmopolitan – an air of cool without pretension.
As soon as you enter this home you instantly feel welcomed, with a warm and comforting feel to it that is perfect for a growing family. The large living room at the front of the property is light and spacious, the beautiful feature fireplace is a great focal point and creates a cosy and homely vibe.
Down the hall is the sitting room, another enticing space accentuated by high ceilings, and complement the remaining original flooring that flows throughout downstairs, along with another lovely fireplace.
The kitchen is a good size, with a gorgeous range oven surrounded by black metro tiles it contrasting
effortlessly with the light décor of the rest of the kitchen and the cream tiled flooring. The open plan layout of kitchen and dining room allows you to socialise and prep dinner. Opening up the back doors, you can enjoy a BBQ with friends or have a quiet night in as you dine al-fresco.
Upstairs there are three good sized bedrooms divided by a split-level stair case with the master bedroom to the front of the property, overlooking the pretty street, including some fitted wardrobe space and to the rear of the property the larger of the rooms has its own en-suite and the third bedroom is a great space for a home office with pretty views of the garden. The family bathroom has a bathtub with overhead shower giving you the option to enjoy a hot bubble bath or hop in the shower on those mornings where you are pushed for time – there is also built-in storage.
There is also a basement that has been split into two.
"Having lived in Reigate prior to this home, we were delighted when this house came on the market in the much-coveted “Fashionable-Fengates!”. It was the perfect house and location to move to, and with two very little children at the time, we have loved bringing them up in this quiet, safe, community-focussed road. Being able to walk into both Redhill and Reigate easily was a real bonus, as are the amenities right on the doorstep on Raffels Bridge. The bi-annual street party really is a highlight. With a daughter at university but studying at home and a teenage son who is a budding sportsman, we are now looking for somewhere with a quiet study space and enough room to really kick a ball around. We will miss Fengates Road enormously and are not looking to venture too far."
