Banstead
Banstead is in one of the most picturesque corners of east Surrey, situated at the top of the North Downs. Perfectly positioned for both London commuters, being a mere 20 minute train from London Terminals, and those wanting access to woodlands walks and open green spaces. Nearby Banstead Downs is a large Site of Special Scientific Interest covering 430 acres.
An old town, Banstead honours traditional events, the highlight being the Banstead Village May Queen festival every Spring. The event is organised by locals and all nearby schools and businesses participate. The earliest recorded mention of Banstead was in an Anglo-Saxon charter of AD 967.
Having been born and raised in Banstead, to be able to return and start the next chapter of our lives here as fully fledged “Bansteadarians” has been incredibly exciting. Living so close to the high street means that we have been able to enjoy everything that Banstead’s heartbeat has to offer. Aside from the obvious amenities and brilliant pubs and restaurants, it’s Banstead’s rich character and personality that has us constantly singing its praises to anyone that will listen.
