Ardshiel Drive slopes gently up from Fairlawn Drive, with Pendleton Road lying opposite. It is a quiet, cul-de-sac with a row of townhouses and this house sits mid terrace, with multi-pane sash windows, a paved driveway for two vehicles, car port and an integral garage.
Once inside you are immediately struck by the scale of the house; almost tardis-like, being far more spacious than the sweet exterior implies. From the front door there is a separate WC to the right – an essential in any family home, and access into the garage.
The huge kitchen/dining room is to the rear and has wooden units, with dark work tops to complement them. While the style would now be considered ‘traditional’, they have been so well-maintained they look new. There are two sets of French doors leading out to the garden which has been paved for easy maintenance, there are pretty floral borders in place, and being slightly elevated, you can enjoy the views of St Johns School. This makes it feel private too, and with so much greenery and birdsong all around you, it is hard to believe you are so close to Redhill town centre and Earlswood train station.
Heading up to the first floor, there are clearly defined areas for relaxed seating in the living room, perfect for socialising, or simply escaping a busy day to catch up on your favourite soaps! Across the hall, the master bedroom sits peacefully to the rear of the property, with an en-suite shower room and storage cupboard. A turning staircase takes you to the second floor, where there are three generously sized bedrooms; one spanning the front of the house with full height wardrobes. The bathroom on this floor is has a fantastic corner bath with a shower overhead and white tiles.
St. John’s is famously known for it’s beautiful woodland walks up to Redhill common, St. John’s Church, schools and pubs. We recommend a delicious burger at Dexter’s burger and on a Sunday heading to the Plough for a roast.
"Nestled in the heart of St. John's conservation area situated at the foot of Redhill Common is where I have loved and enjoyed Ardshiel Drive. Surrounded by the unchanged history of the area including the much sort after St John's Junior school, just a step outside the back gate and of the magnificent St. John's historic church.
Having the Lakes and Reigate and Redhill Golf Course on the doorstep too. A great place to enjoy.
The beauty of my house is that it is spacious and light. Facing south it enjoys all day, all around sunshine and warmth. It's dominant position in the cul-de-sac embraces Ardshiel Drive which is surrounded by kind and caring neighbours offering friendship, security and protection.
It is a unique environment and a privilege to live there. Perhaps that's why houses here rarely come up for sale!"
